The junior rifle program is ran in accordance with the NRA basic rifle course. This course may interact with the Boy Scouts of America shooting merit badge requirements. It consists of a 10 hour in-class room gun safety study, followed by a 4-8 hr. range day reviewing shooting fundamentals, and ending with 50 question test. The fundamentals include standing, sitting, prone shooting positions, and shooting for score to achieve ranking in the different shooting positions if the student continues training. The club can furnish rifles and ammunition for first time shooters. Students may use there own firearms after a safety inspection.
